Dear administrator,
It is indeed a welcome move, that the Indian Air force has decided to reopen an old airbase in Leh.This would pave way to keep an eye on the growing might of China and at the same time beware of its nefarious designs. The Indian airforce certainly needs to be commended for this. What the new government should be cautious of is that the Chinese ambitions are on the rise these days and Mr. S.M. Krishna has got the task of dealing with them very sternly. China has a very dubious record of nuclear proliferation to Pakistan and that is something which should really cause concern to any far-sighted Government in New Delhi. The BJP's foreign policy cell has to be activated or reconstituted with Arun Shourie at the helm..This forum also could prove to be an ideal place to explore for newer and younger talents for the party.Smt. Sushma Swaraj also could lend a more independent dimension to the party's foreign policy. It can never be forgotten how Mrs. Swaraj defended India's position during her visit to Pakistan during the SAARC summit in 2002. There is no dearth of talent int he party and all that needs to be done is to channelise it in the proper way. The parliamentary party should adopt a resolutiion urging the government to urgently take steps to modernise the armed forces, particularly the airforce and the navy.
JAIHIND.
