Save the Economy, Save the Jobs, Save the Nation

Postby bhemanta on Tue Mar 17, 2009 11:56 am

I think this should be the election slogan for BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections:-

Save the Economy, Save the Jobs, Save the Nation

This is one amongst the handful of most pressing problems we face today as a nation. Some other prominent problems being - cross-border sponsored terrorism, poor civic infrastructure, corruption, etc.

Economic well-being is important for a nation to be able to handle other problems. And economic well-being can only ensure that India becomes and remains one of the top nations in the world.

Everyone: kindly share your views as to what should be the agenda items that BJP should keep in its manifesto to drive India back to economic stability and prosperity.

India along with the globe is facing recession. It may continue for a few years ;in the worst case scenario ! Hence entreprunerial skills only can save families. !940s were very bad times.WE were living on American PL wheat: "ship to mouth".There was misery everywhere ! Employment was was a maana for a few from GoVT heaven. I had passed 10th class in merit scoring 100% in maths & very good marks in all subjects. But I had a large family to look after and also ambition to study! I reasoned ,Textile HAND-Printing could be a micro good home business & started it. It saw me through my education helped me to maintain the family during my studies ! Where there is a will there is a way. Look around and start micro-enterprise. Vote BJP to encourage micro-Finance.

It will be good to have BJP come back to power with thumping majority. In the current crisis situation, a coalition government will force the BJP government to not be able to take tough and hard decisions.

For fighting the economic crisis we need a 1-party government to run the nation. Coalition government though give space to regional and state-level aspirations but tend to slow down the pace of decision making. Even if it's a coalition government headed by BJP, it would be in the larger interest of India for the coalition partners to put the national interest above the regional and state-level aspirations.

Managing coalition government was a key strength of BJP in their central tenure at New Delhi. And they were also able to take tough decisions. Remember, it was BJP only which was instrumental in declaring our Nuclear Power status to the world. And the way for signing of the 123 Agreement was paved by the step BJP took.

Gandhiji said " Politics without declared policies is HARLOTARY"! COALITION POLITICS IS ALL ABOUT "kISSA kURSSIKA"!
Third: Third front will ruin India! The first 3rd headed by V.P let loose the casteist demon on India! Now every caste from Brahmin to the extremely Backward want to be STS or SCS! We have seen Gujjar struggle in Rajasthan ! Such fights will be common in future ;if every one of us donot realise our leader Shri. Ambedkar's advice that no section of society can be provided the crutch of reservation eternally. But Vote-Bank politics has drawn our nation tnto the mire! The 2nd coalition was presided by sleeping beauties! So a 3rd- third front backed by left whose sole ideology is to blow up democracy after entering into it and foster Party Dictatorship! Then Everyone of us will have to do Russian-KOPAK dance as many did under STALIN. Vote BJP to foster INDIAN Democracy !

With recession being around the corner for just 2-3 quarters the cost we have paid as a nation and as a society is already humongous. If the recession continues for another 4-5 years under yet another Congress term it will simply have disastrous consequences.

Just yesterday I was watching a news item on one of the channels about a man committing suicide as he lost his job and he had no savings to support his family. Individual problems will always remain but when most of the individuals in a country face the same problem, the political parties should consider that problem as an issue of national importance.

And this is precisely where Congress has failed us and that too despite many renowned economists turned politicians and policymakers who are involved with the economic governance. Names of these individuals are not important but the extent of failed leadership is.

All of us need to ensure change in governance - let us all join hands to make sure that we don't hand over governance to "the hand that has come to represent non-governance".

The only option is BJP (and that too all alone), and in case that doesn't happen due to the realities of coalition era, it should be at least a BJP-led government at the center. The third front is unfortunately not really a coalition and a sad reflection of what opportunistic politics can lead a nation into...

Here's a two step approach to bring the nation back to economic stability:

            1. Select BJP to power and that too as the single largest party with majority

            2. BJP on coming to power to immediately put into place a Social Security System.
Do check out another post on this subject: http://www.lkadvani.in/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2823

For step 2, the first action point will be creating a national citizen database and issuing of citizen cards to all "eligible" citizens. This is already there in BJP's IT Vision. See below extract from the IT Vision document:
"Multipurpose National Identity Card (MNIC) with unique Citizen Identification Number (CIN) for every Indian citizen in 3 years; to replace all other identification systems."

Economy can only be saved by creating a huge number of JOBS ! I have elsewhere posted how the women of Gujarat have provided jobs for 14,000 women. Even old ladies in their late sixties are working in Lijjad Pappad company earning well. Such cooperative enterprises should be started in every town, city and village utilising local skills & resources by providing micor-Finance. to create lakhs of employed worker-owners! Indian MEN, Women and Children are highly talented! Given right input & finance India can flourish. It's HUman resource is highly valuable in every sphere! Vote BJP to change gear from Vote-Bank dependent aam-admi to REAL INDIAM aam admi!

Quite a pragmatic idea - we need to turn into a nation of entrepreneurs and job creators. I think there should also be a basic safety net for the failed enterprises that many entrepreneurs will necessarily go through.

When 100 enterprising individuals start 100 new initiatives probably a handful will eventually succeed. For those who succeed life would be rosy and pleasant. But for the remaining who fail life will become thorny and rough. A basic safety net in the form of a Social Security System will be the right mechanism to ensure that the failed entereprises do not spell doom for the individuals who were associated with them.

            Maybe BJP should aim for
Har bharatwasi ko milega kaam, ud jayega berojgari ka toofan.

This means, "every Indian will have a job and that will make the clouds of unemployment fly away".

Access to education should be equal !

Postby sivaraman on Sun Mar 29, 2009 10:38 am

Educational opportunities should be available for all! Now cities like Delhi, Agra, Meerut , Modinagar, Muzaffarabad, Chandigarh, Dehra-DUn, Noida, etc are bustling with students. This scope should be further expanded to meet the needs of our huge Population! Vote for BJP.

the only way to save the jobs and save the economy is to go for creating more healthy wealth.
when I say healthy wealth it is all about producing goods and services based on the profit margin that gets shared equally among all the stake holders. One of the stake holders of any company is society at large. we need to bring in more changes in the way the corporate governance is implemented in companies.
companies need to be more responsible and transperant - satyam being the classic case.
It is clear from the response we got from various agencies connected to the Corporate governance of Satyam that there is no concerted effort to plug the large loop holes in the system that enable the people to resort to fraudulant practices.
what lessons we have learned from Satyam is yet to be prounced and implemented as fast as possible then we can gurantee jobs and provide and impetus to the economic activity.
when India becomes a more fair country the jobs will increase and economy will automatically turnaround.
We ignore this basic issue and beat around the bush.
Or we reinvent the wheel every time a scam surfaces.
            we must stop this.
