fiscal conservatism doesnt seem to be on the agenda of any of the political parties.....65,000 crore bailout of farmers was ridiculous yet there was no political opposition....the question is who will foot the bill for this aggressive spending by the government...as always it will be the poor indian tax payer
the biggest problem India faces right now is the centre-left economic policies of all the major political parties in India...though the BJP claims to on the right its manifesto seems to suggest more of the populist government spending along the lines of the Congress and the Left.
I think it would the help the BJP to differentiate itself from the centre-left parties in the indian political spectrum by focusing on:
1)reducing government spending
2)reducing the role of the government and opening up the economy
